Though Herman Carlson Levin lived to see the end of World War II, he did not survive long enough to see the path of Sweden’s recovery – He died on March 26th, 1948. The company, however, did survive and prospered. The 1950s saw changes in musical styles and instrument preferences.

Herman returned to Sweden in 1900, with the dream of introducing his luthiership to European markets. That same year he opened his own factory in Göteborg, the Herman Carlson Levin Musikinstrumentfabrik (Musical Instrument Factory). Herman saw his company through many successes in the first decade of the 20 th century.
